Paul Maniscalco

Chief Maniscalco has over 25 years of public safety response and management experience, addressing events ranging from transportation emergencies to natural disasters and acts of terrorism to dignitary visits and national political conventions. He has lectured extensively on public health security and is widely published in academic and professional journals on emergency medical service, fire service, special operations, public safety and national security issues.
Chief Maniscalco currently serves as the Executive Council member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) for which he also served as a past president, Chairman of the NAEMT National EMS Administrators Division and as Deputy Chief Paramedic for one of the largest urban EMS systems in the world. Previous commands held by Chief Maniscalco include Field Response, Command and Management assignments in the Communications Division, Training Division, Field Services Bureau, Office of the Chief of Operations and Commander of the Special Operations Division.
Chief Maniscalco is a member of the Department of Defense, Defense Science Board, Transnational Threat Study and the Homeland Defense – Chemical Weapons Task Force, the Department of Defense, Interagency Board (IAB) EMS/Medical Working Group and an Advisor to the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency ENCOMPASS project. He is also an appointee to the United States Congressionally mandated National Panel to Assess Domestic Preparedness (Gilmore Commission) and sits as the Chairman of the State and Local Response Panel.
