PRIMEnet Tip of the Month for August 2007 is based on
a recent suggestion from an existing PRIMEnet with Desktop
Video on Demand customer who submitted the following:
"Your (FETN) Training should be tied in with hands on training."
This user makes a very valid point and we appreciate the feedback.
It would be impossible for us to improve our services without
users who think toward alternative ways to use our products. I
hope the following explanation of how customers can incorporate
their online training with their hands on training proves beneficial.
FETN PRIMEnet with Desktop Video on Demand allows Training
Administrators the flexibility of incorporating FETN training
into the field. There are a variety of methods Training Administrators
use to accomplish these tasks which include the use of the Batch
Enrollment, Group Learning Plans and the activation of advanced
features in the system.
Training Administrators in PRIMEnet have the ability to
enroll students into assigned learning objectives and keep track
of each users progress by running a variety of reports including
Group Learning Plan Compliance Reports, Training Status Reports
and the Test Performance Report to name a few. Some instructors
require their students to complete a series of courses at the
conclusion of the classroom or field training exercise by creating
Group Learning Plans based on the subject matter or they simply
Batch Enroll the students into additional training.
Advanced features in PRIMEnet can be authorized specifically
for your Instructors to use when planning and scheduling classroom
or field training. Instructors can set course pre-requisites for
students to complete in order for them to qualify to attend their
sessions or before the student can request permission to attend
the instructors training course. Instructors can set classroom
minimums on attendance, enter comments in each students profile
for their manager/supervisor to review and training administrators
can use PRIMEnet to rank their top Instructors based on
the subject and schedule and assign class instructions based on
the highest ranking instructor for the course based on their availability.
When the Advanced features are activated, all users can access
a training calendar that lists all the upcoming hands on training
courses. Based on pre-requisites, students can request permission
to attend courses that meet their shift schedules. The activation
of these features makes it easy to keep track of all your training
needs and adds a layer of convenience for your students.
These are only a few examples of how customers can apply FETN
training in the classroom or in the field. If you are interested
in learning more about these functions, we encourage you to contact
us before your next hands on training session.
