PULSE covers the seven National Standard EMS curricula categories

We frequently hear the following question from our EMS customers:
My state requires me to have a specific number of hours in different categories. How can I tell what course goes in what category?

FETN/PULSE Emergency Medical Update has an easy answer.

PULSE programs are added monthly in many topic areas! They have been developed and are constantly evaluated to keep up with the rapidly changing field of pre-hospital care. All PULSE courses are approved by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) and cover all seven of the National Standard EMS curricula categories:

  • Preparatory
  • Airway Management
  • Patient Assessment
  • Trauma
  • Medical
  • Special Considerations
  • Clinically Related Operations

You can view a list of these courses and the appropriate category at http://www.twlk.com/fire/pulse.asp

If you have a PULSE related question you would like addressed in the FETN eNewsletter, please send it to nancy.bauer@twlk.com and we will answer it in the next issue.
