PRIMEnet Tip of the
Month
2006 will be a year that will go down in history as the year
of training!
In October 2005, FETN débuted an added feature to PRIMEnet
known as Desktop Video on Demand (DVOD). DVOD is the latest
delivery method FETN offers to their customers allowing users
to view the award winning FETN training programs streamed to
the desktop. Users with an assigned login ID and password can
view the entire training program, review the necessary lesson
plans and complete the final examination for continuing education.
The library of available programs continues to grow as new
programs are produced and air on FETN’s encrypted satellite
training network.
FETN was the inaugural training network to offer DVOD and
to date, I am proud to announce that 16,236 users have completed
98,916 hours of training. Through the tireless efforts of our
customers, taking into consideration the jobs they perform
for their communities, our FETN PRIMEnet customers exceeded
all expectations. Being a trendsetter enabled us to provide
the exact same service for FETN’s sister networks the
Law Enforcement Training Network (LETN) and the Professional
Security Training Network (PSTN).
Congratulations to all the FETN departments and registered
users for a year that will go down in the record books, at
least for a year. We look forward to breaking this record in
2007!
