Airbag Update 2007, Part 2
038-7008
While airbag systems help to protect vehicle occupants during
a crash, they also can pose many special challenges to fire,
EMS, rescue, and law enforcement responders assisting at crash
scenes. For their own safety, first responders must be familiar
with current airbag system technology in today’s vehicles.
Join training expert Ron Moore for Part 2 of Airbag Update 2007
as he discusses airbag location and ID identifiers and tags and
side impact and roof airbags systems. He will also identify important
safety issues involving stored gas airbag inflator modules and
pressurized vessels and discuss how to handle these systems during
extrication.
American Heat: Reducing Deaths in Apparatus
463-0107
Every year a significant number of firefighters die in accidents
involving apparatus. Most of these accidents can be prevented
through policy enforcement, proper training, vehicle maintenance,
and the use of safety devices. This course examines some of the
most common causes of apparatus deaths and identifies methods
that fire agencies can implement to help reduce firefighter fatalities.
PULSE: Acute Cardiogenic Pulmonary Edema
464-0107
This activity explores the symptoms and emergency treatment for
acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema, a common but potentially deadly
pulmonary condition. In this course, you will see what happens
to a patient experiencing ACPE starting with the 9-1-1 call through
emergency treatment and stabilization.

Terrorist Preparedness: Critical Incident Management
038-0207
This is the first in a series of training videos developed to
assist the first responders of Montgomery County to prepare for
critical incidents. This program will illustrate the Montgomery
County Incident Management System, explaining how the Montgomery
County system supports the National Incident Management System,
as prescribed by Presidential Directive. Their example can be
adapted and applied in most regions.
American Heat: Incident and Disaster Preparation
463-0207
This course identifies problems, concerns, issues, and lessons
learned from recent hurricane and other disasters and identifies
new protocols, preparedness procedures, training methods, and
planning that can be utilized by fire departments and response
teams facing similar disasters.
PULSE: Pediatric RAD/Asthma
464-0207
The prevalence of asthma and associated morbidity has been on
the rise for the past 20-30 years. Children are affected disproportionately,
and up to 12% of children in the United States are affected.
This presentation discusses emergency treatment approaches, environmental
issues, and differential diagnosis of pediatric asthma.
