Fire and EMS Stand Down Week—June 17-23:

The Third Annual Fire and EMS Stand Down will take place during the week of June 17-23. This year's theme, "Ready to Respond," focuses on the proper training, preparation, and equipment necessary to answer a call and return safely.

The Stand Down has an expanded schedule this year to provide departments with maximum flexibility for participating in the exercise, including weekend opportunities to better accommodate volunteers.

National Safety Month: "Celebrating Safe Communities"

A safe community comes together to promote safe and healthy behaviors that protect people from hurt and harm in all aspects of their lives. Click here to view the 2007 Safety Tips by Category provided by the National Safety Council.

Great Outdoors Month is a presidential proclaimed celebration to encourage and appreciate outdoor recreational activities. Here is a collection of distinct and diverse roads, designated by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation as America's Byways®, based on one or more archaeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational and scenic intrinsic qualities.
