Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Saving time is here -- earlier than expected -- Remember to fast forward your clock on Sunday, March 11th.

When few people were paying attention in August 2005, Congress lengthened daylight saving time by four weeks as an energy conservation initiative.

Now, daylight-saving time begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November. The change takes effect this year - on March 11th.

We are responsible for the safety of our crews. Oh yes, that means officers must buckle up too. I tell my kids that all accidents are preventable if someone or something had done something properly. Many deaths of firefighters can be prevented if we would just use seat belts. Let's join together and reduce this statistic by 100%. Don't be thrown clear…buckle up and be safe!
