Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Saving time is here -- earlier than expected -- Remember to fast forward your clock on Sunday, March 11th.

When few people were paying attention in August 2005, Congress lengthened daylight saving time by four weeks as an energy conservation initiative.

Now, daylight-saving time begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November. The change takes effect this year - on March 11th.

FDIC Trade Show in April

Come visit us at the FDIC show in Indianapolis, April 18-21, 2007. We will be in Booth 90, right by the entrance to Exhibit Hall D.

From Chief Corbin: Until We Meet Again

We have a custom down here in Texas. You never say goodbye . . . you just say, "Until we meet again." Roy Rogers always said that in his signature song, and now it is time for me to say that as I ride off into the sunset to my next great adventure!

It's all about Randy - the new Fire Chief of Wylie Fire Department, Wylie, TX

Yes, our own Randy Corbin is the new Fire Chief of the Wylie Fire Department. Wylie is about 22 miles northeast of Dallas, Texas. As we say goodbye to him, we would like to describe the characteristics of a "perfect" firefighting professional because we believe that is who Randy really is.

Firefighter Safety-- buckle up and be safe!

We are responsible for the safety of our crews. Oh yes, that means officers must buckle up too. I tell my kids that all accidents are preventable if someone or something had done something properly. Many deaths of firefighters can be prevented if we would just use seat belts. Let's join together and reduce this statistic by 100%. Don't be thrown clear…buckle up and be safe!

The Changing Role of EMS

EMS defies simple explanation, both historically and today. EMS is out-of-hospital patient care. EMS is ambulance transport. EMS is an extension of emergency medicine and an arm of public health. EMS is a safety net. EMS is prevention. EMS is first response and public safety. In fact, EMS plays all of these roles, making it truly worthy of the moniker: America's front line of health care.
