Partners in Learning
KUDOS to those who have already completed a needs assessment and
returned it to us. I know it is JUST June, and you may be thinking
about vacation, but we are focusing on 2008 and mapping out our
programming. We value your input and definitely need it to help
meet your learning needs. We use your needs assessments, faculty
recommendations, program evaluation comments, subject matter expert
ideas, and "hot topics" from regulatory agencies to plan
our curriculum. If you haven't completed yours, you still have time.
This year, National Patient Safety Goals won the award for most
requested topic. Specifically, many have asked how other facilities
are meeting the requirements of the National Patient Safety Goals.
Do you have a "best practice"? Maybe you've tried something
innovative and would be willing to share. I would love to read your
strategies and success stories in striving for these important objectives.
Let us hear from you!
I'd also like to take a moment to explain about our Encore programming.
Encores are, as the name implies, activities that we offer again
after their initial airings. We offer encored activities to our
subscribers because healthcare facilities always have new staff
coming in who would benefit from participating in these activities,
whether they've never worked in a hospital or healthcare facility
before or they're seasoned healthcare professionals who just need
refreshing in key areas. We are dedicated to ensuring that all of
our activities, both new and encored, provide essential, up-to-date
information and skills to new staff and veterans, alike. It's important
to note, though, that while we encourage you to participate in our
learning activities as often as you like, participants may only
receive credit once for each activity. Our encored activities are
periodically updated to allow participants to receive additional
credit. Our updates are done according to priority.
I would truly love to hear from you about either of the topics
discussed above-as well as any other concerns you might have about
your service, topic suggestions, etc. And don't forget to fill out
and return your Needs Assessment. We can't program our activities
without YOUR input!
