OVERVIEW
The purpose of this unit is to give trainees a general understanding of basic principles of fire, types of fire extinguishers, and how to identify different types of fire extinguishers.  At the conclusion of this unit, trainees will have a basic understanding of three elements of combustion, four classes of fires, common types of fire extinguishers and extinguishing agents, and ways of identifying different types of fire extinguishers.
