Conduct Accident Investigations at Home!



Now included with every set of SAFESTART™ participant’s training materials, Hurt at Home is a 5-part DVD designed to improve the safety of employees’ spouses and children. It teaches how to talk about the states that may have existed when an injury occurred. More importantly it gets people to talk about which Critical Error Reduction Techniques (CERT) they could use to minimize the frequency of similar incidents in the future. Families can select the age appropriate vignettes that demonstrate real accident investigations people anywhere can perform, at any age, to learn from their incidents and improve their use of CERT.

Developed as a companion to Taking SAFESTART™ Home and The SAFESTART™ Accident/Investigation Enhancement Series, Hurt at Home follows a process that mirrors accident/incident investigations at work, but in an at-home, kid-friendly kind of way. Hurt at Home should be implemented after completing SAFESTART™ and Taking SAFESTART™ Home. Each kit comes complete with a DVD, instruction booklet, two SAFESTART™ cards, 2 SAFESTART™ stickers and one poster.
