Certification and Documentation

LETN enables Training Officers to satisfy “must-have” training mandates, including state, federal, continuing education and in-service requirements.

We take the documentation burden off the Training Officer through the LETN “Academy”. This documentation service, tracks and records training and issues certificates to recognize an officer’s training accomplishments. Not only does this ease the department’s training burden, but also provides valuable third-party documentation, often vital in legal liability situations.

In addition, LETN provides a comprehensive Web-based learning management system (LMS) we call PRIMEnet, which automates everything from tracking and testing to documentation and verification. We take care of the third-party communication and correspondence required for certification credits, which saves precious time and money.

NEW PRIMEnet e-Certificates available December 1st, 2006

LETN training administrators, if you are a PRIMEnet subscriber, you will be able to print training certificates online. This is a FREE service provided by LETN to allow you more flexibility of obtaining your students’ certificates when you need it.

e-Certificates FAQ - Questions/Answers About e-Certificates

What is e-Certificate?

e-Certificate is a new online service provided by LETN. Traditionally certificates have been printed by the LETN Academy and mailed to recipients. The e-Certificate service allows customers more document control by providing them print on demand capabilities via the internet.

Why is LETN converting all customers to e-Certificates automatically?

Our research has determined that the majority of our customers would prefer to have online access to print certificates. We recognize that the internet is playing a larger role in the operation for large and small departments. Based on these findings, we've elected to default all customers to e-Certificates.

How will I know when a certificate is ready to print?

Upon logging into PRIMEnet and clicking the "e-Certificate" link from the Training Administrators Main Menu, a web page will be displayed that asks for "Search Criteria". Enter your search criteria, check the box marked "Print Filter" and click "Search". Appearing on the next screen will be list of students and the courses they've tested. This list represents the certificates that have not currently been printed. From the certificate list you can either select "Check All" or individually select the student certificate you wish to print.

What can I do if I need certificates printed and I don't have access to a working printer?

If for some reason you can't print using e-Certificate, call (800) 535-5386 and select Option #4 and request your certificates be printed by the LETN Academy and mailed to you, or simply follow the “Op Out” procedures posted on the last question of this page.

Who should I contact if I have questions regarding the e-Certificate print online instructions/procedure?

Please call the LETN Customer Care team at (800) 535-5386 if you need assistance regarding your e-Certificate service.

Is there a charge for e-Certificates?

Printing e-Certificates is a free service.

Who will have access to print?

Only users who have access to the Training Administrator role in PRIMEnet have access to print e-Certificates. If you need assistance updating your access to include the Training Administrator role, please call Customer Care at (800) 535-5386 and press option #2.

What certificates will be available to print?

Only certificates generated from courses tested from the moment when the e-Certificate service becomes available can be accessed. Copies of certificates produced prior to the e-Certificate introduction can be requested and mailed to you by calling Customer Care at (800) 535-5386 and press option #2

Will the certificates look the same?

All certificates will print in black and white.

Are there security features on the document?

Yes. Another addition to the certificates is a watermark and a unique serial number used to validate the document and ensure its authenticity.

What paper do I use to print certificates?

The paper size designed for the certificates is 81/2x 11. If you wish to continue to have the same presentation as LETN's standard printed certificates then we suggest stocking your printer with 26# parchment paper. The color is up to you!

Will I continue to obtain the "Statement of Award" document traditionally mailed with certificates?

This document is not included when using the e-Certificate service.

Does e-Certificate include online requests for quarterly reports?

No. At this time the only function available with e-Certificates is access to print the training certificate via the Web. The means by which you currently receive your quarterly reports will remain the same.

What if my department isn't prepared to accommodate online capabilities, such as e-Certificates?

You will still be able to receive hard-copy printed certificates from LETN but you must notify our IES department and specifically set-up your account for this process. You can call (800) 535-5386 and request to opt-out of the e-Certificate service, or fill out and submit an online opt-out request form. Simple go to LETN.com and follow the links to PRIMEnet.
