You probably already
have Internet Explorer installed on your computer. Even so, we recommend that you download and install the latest
version of Internet Explorer. To
download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer, use the following
link:
Here you can download the latest version of Internet Explorer. You are also given the opportunity to download different versions if you
wish. To download the latest version of
Internet Explorer, go to “Downloads”
on the left menu bar, click “Downloads:
Overview”, and then click the “Download”
button on the next page.
You will first be asked if you want to “…run or save this file” (as shown
below). We recommend that you select “Run”.

Next, select “Run” (as shown
below) again.
Your computer will now begin extracting Internet Explorer installation
files.

When the files are finished extracting, the
next window will be a “Welcome”
screen. After reading and following
Microsoft’s recommendations (as shown below), click “Next”.

After reading the license terms (as shown
below), click “I Accept” (if you
do).

Next, you will be asked to verify that your
copy of Windows is genuine. Click the “Validate” button (as shown below) to
continue.

Click “Next”
(as shown below) to get the latest updates and continue.

When installation is complete, it is
recommended that you restart your computer now.
We recommend you do so by clicking the “Restart Now (Recommended)” button.

Once you have restarted your computer and opened Internet Explorer, a “Welcome to Internet Explorer” screen
will open. You will be given options to
choose. We recommend choosing, under “Required Settings”, the option “Keep my current default search provider”. All other settings are “Optional Settings”.
After you have completed your setting selections, click the “Save
Settings” button to finish the Internet Explorer installation.
To automatically download and install JAVA
Software, use the following link:
http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp.
Once you are on this
JAVA web page, click on the button “Download
Now”. On the next page, click on the
button “Begin Download”. We recommend that you Bookmark this page as
it contains complete (with screenshots) Java installation instructions. Once you have completed your Java software
installation, you will be given the opportunity to “Verify Installation”. If
problems occur, help is offered by Java Software at this time.
The Internet zone consists of all Web sites that are not included in the other zones. By default, the Internet zone is set to the “Medium-high” security level. On older versions of Internet Explorer, the default security level setting is “Medium”. If you are concerned about possible security problems when users browse the Internet, you might want to change the security level to High. However, if you raise the security level, Internet Explorer 7 prevents some Web pages from performing certain potentially harmful operations. As a result, some pages might not function or be displayed properly. Rather than use the High security level, you might want to choose the Custom level so that you can control each individual security decision for the zone.
To confirm your Security level is
configured (at Medium-high) to use PRIMEnet,
with Internet Explorer open, on the Tools
menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
With the Internet zone
selected, confirm that the Security level for this zone is set at Medium-high.

With the Internet Options
window still open, select the Advanced
tab. Refer to the following screenshots
to confirm that the Internet Explorer settings are correctly selected.
First, scroll down to confirm that the JAVA and Microsoft VM (JIT Compiler) checkboxes are checked.

Next, with Internet Options still open, scroll down to confirm the correct
settings for ActiveX are
selected. Refer to the following two
screenshots.

We also
recommend that you download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader. The current version is available free at the
following link:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
Click
“Continue” to install Adobe Reader 8.0
If you see this following message, click on the information bar to
enable ActiveX control and continue the Adobe Reader installation.

Click “Run” to start
downloading Adobe Reader. Click “Save” to save it to your computer for
installation at a later time. Since
there is no need to take up space on your Hard Drive, we recommend that you click
the “Run” button.

Next, you will be given a Security Warning. Click “Run”
again.

After the files have finished downloading, you will be given the option
to install now or later. We recommend to
“Install Now”.

Adobe Reader Setup files will now be
processed. It will take a few
minutes. Next, you will be prompted to
install to a folder. We recommend that
you click “Next” to install to the
default folder.

Now, you will be prompted to click “Install”.

And finally, to “Finish”.

You will be prompted to restart your computer before installation is
complete.
