CARROLLTON, TEXAS – April 2, 2008 – TWL Knowledge Group, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of TWL Corporation (TWLO.OB and www.twlk.com) announced today that Thomas A. Ward, former Assistant Chief with the Dallas Texas Police Department, has accepted the position of Director of Education for the Law Enforcement Training Network (LETN).
Chief Ward has more than 28 years of law enforcement experience with the Dallas Police Department, the past eight years of which he served as an Assistant Chief of Police. As an Assistant Chief of Police Mr. Ward’s most recent assignment was as Commander of the Administration and Support Bureau, which included personnel, training and internal affairs. Previously he was Commander of the Human Resources and Professional Standards Bureau, as well as Commander of the Patrol Bureau, and the Support Services Bureau.
Among his many awards Chief Ward was the recipient of the Police Medal of Valor, awarded for exceptional bravery and courageous action in the performance of duty at great risk of life. He also received the Police Commendation Award, awarded for an outstanding contribution to the police profession without regard for personal welfare or safety.
Chief Ward holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Political Science as well as a Masters of Public Administration. He is also a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police, Police Executive Research Forum and a Graduate of the Management College and School of Supervision from the Southwestern Law Enforcement Institute.
